Process VS Product

Creative art is so crucial for young brains. It really challenges and builds their cognitive skills, as well as communication, fine motor and emotional skills.
Often, the word "creative" is forgotten. With the internet and incredible resources, we become more focussed on the product and not the process. Now, what do those words mean in creative art?
The Process consists of what steps the child is making. They make creative decisions and explore materials. They work their skills and make something that they can be proud of. While they are creating they may discuss their art and tell you what they are going to do!
The Product is the finished product. We focus on what the art should look like and not what the child has created and the many steps it took to get there.

This is not to say that Pinterest art isn't useful and doesn't develop children's skills, but we do want creativity to be the driving force in these activities.
In my opinion, creative art should be a child-guided activity. We are there for support and to encourage learning.
